Silent Hill! *hearts*
Silent Hill-- despite being a remake of a Japanese movie based on a Japanese video game-- is a completely, utterly awesome and totally demonic movie. They kept Yamaoka Akira's awesome score, and I think I saw his name listed as a consultant, too. This was a horror movie unlike any I've seen in a long time, with images and demons used in ways that were actually *new*. As a pretty jaded horror fan, I can tell you that's pretty impressive. The girl was creepy, the atmosphere was disquieting, and movie kept me on my toes. I loved it!

Amber, you have to go see this as soon as possible! It's kind of gross, but it's video-game gore-- obviously not real-- so it didn't really bother me.

*hearts creepy little girls and demonic japanese stories*

We're going at 1:30 tomorrow afternoon. :)

His music... god. Seeing that he was doing the music for the movie is what sold me on it, really. If you want more, I have more. So much love for him.

Also, tell me: Did changing to scenes outside the town (Boromir's hunt for his family) mess up the flow of the movie? Because I am convinced that if anything is going to ruin the movie, it's that. The games are only so haunting because it's a non-stop sensory assault, and changing between two storylines, with one taking place outside of Silent Hill, seems like a bad idea to me.

Wonderful! I can't wait to hear your thoughts on it. I'm a little worried I might get you over excited for it, 'cause I obviously haven't played the game, but I've seen a *lot* of horror movies, and this one was memorable, in a good way. ^__^

Yamaoka kicks audiological ass. ^_^ I have "Please Love Me ONce More", "You're Not Here" and the main theme, but I'm missing that one song that goes, "Hey there, to my future self..." I can definitely trade you stuff for it-- I have this Japanese band called FAKE you'd probably like. I just can't trade on English stuff because almost all my files are itunes protected. *kicks apple*

It was a little disconcerting, but I tyhink it actually helps keep you off-balance, because the colors differ so sharply. There's also a really creepy moment where the two lines overlap... except that they don't. ^^; I don't want to spoil it. But no, Boromir's* search didn't really infringe on the main story all that much-- just enough so you knew that he was there.

The beginning kind of drops you in the middle and tells the story backwards, though.

*Heh, I had no idea who you were talking about for a moment, until I realized that _that's_ why the actor seemed so familiar. He IS Boromir! *shakes head* Silly Mere.

*hugs* I hope you have an awesome time!

Silent Hill 3 soundtrack. Includes the song you mentioned, "Letter ~ From the Lost Days." (There's a text file in that folder that says where the mp3s came from. It also says not to redistribute, but I don't see how it would do the site maintainer any good for you to use your time and his/her bandwidth to go and get each one individually yourself.)

Silent Hill 4 limited edition soundtrack thing. Not the full soundtrack, but the twenty tracks that were on the CD given to people who pre-ordered the game.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy these. I prefer the latter soundtrack, but both are quite good.

You are so amazing, my dear. Thank you so much! These tracks are awesome for writing to, because they create the right ambiance without being too distracting. I love "Letter From The Lost Days".

Usually I take that to mean that they don't want you to remove their labels and put it on your own site, so I think you're fine. ^__^

Hee. We were just talking about how awesome this movie looks today.

On a semi-related note: I saw The Zombie Survival Guide recently and thought of you.

In this case, the movie is very much as awesome as it looks!

*giggles* Everyone always underestimates the threat posed by zombies, you know. ^_~

OMG! You saw it!? Dude! I'm so jealous! I've been waiting to see the movie for months now, and I've been counting days! It's probaby gonna be a while before it comes to Europe, so I'll have to get it from the Internet. But yay! I'm so happy you liked it! I was very nervous about it, because Silent Hill is my 2nd favorite game series in the world, so I was worried they'd make a crappy movie.

I don't think you'll be disappointed at all, Yorda! There were a few glitches, but nothing major, and the over-all feel was very true to the game. I hope you get to see it soon!

Also, I love the music, and the ambience, and I heard they got that down pat.
They did! It was like spending two hours in someone's nightmare. I felt kinda dizzy when I walked out and was presented with regular colors. Heh. ^__^

Black Triangle Head Guy? He was amazingly scary! Made the grim reaper look like a pussy-cat. I think he'll make you want to hide under your seat. ^_~
