A Toast
There are always tons of really depressing stories about gay rights in the news, both here in the US and around the world. But sometimes, a little bit of light shines through the clouds.

On Friday, two privates in the Spanish Millitary were wed in a full public ceremony. They exchanged gold rings and kissed in front of a cheering crowd. Spain legalized gay marriage in 2005, but these two are the first millitary servicemen to openly wed. Spain's government has promised to protect their rights. The full story is here.

So, to Alberto and Alberto-- I salute you. A long and happy hitch. ^_^

Stories like this keep me from writing the world off completely. ^_^

I'm inappropriately amused by the fact they're both named Alberto, as well. Hee.
